Enjoy your very own piece of original, hand painted artwork. Freestanding, each one of these metal dogs, represents a real animal from the Yuendumu region and are made in collaboration with the Alice Springs prison. They are handpainted with love by artists at Warlukurlangu.

Metal dog original artworks help support the community based social programs, keeping animals and people in Yuendumu healthy, safe and happy.

Metal dogs are hand painted on both sides. Artwork styles & colours can vary between sides.
Each dog comes with a card which talks about the program and art centre.
Colour and textures may vary from images depending on your screen.
Approximate size (varies between dogs):  19cm width. 11/12cm height.

More about the work:
Rudolf is a very sweet, loyal dog. He loves his owner in Yuendumu and doesn’t ever want to leave her.

Dogs in Warlpiri are called ‘Jarntu’ or ‘maliki’ . Families in Yuendumu tend to own many dogs. They are good ‘marlpa’ (company). Many people think of their dogs as ‘warlalja’ (family). Dogs in Yuendumu like to follow their owners around whenever they can.
